Take the Initiative

“You’ve got to take the initiative and play your game . . .

confidence makes the difference.”

Chris Evert Lloyd, Tennis Champion

As I see it . . . . . . .

Take the initiative

The business environment is in a constant state of shifting. Take the initiative to take advantage of change.

As the business environment shifts you have to stay in front of the change in order to take advantage of the change . . . . and to remain relevant in your field.

The only thing that remains constant in your life . . . . is change.

You can take the initiative with change . . . . and stay on the cutting edge of change  to stay on the leading edge of your profession. Or you can resist change and fall behind the business curve.

Change will wait for no one . . . . and is ongoing.

When you take the initiative . . . . you will move forward into change with the confidence that your on the right track and you will look at change as an opportunity.

Making a difference is very important in the business, and it takes initiative and creativity to do so. Thanks for the great advice Lou.

It's great advice! We might not like change, but without it, we wouldn't be where we are today.

I was thinking today about being brave (something I had in an earlier blog post) and how much of a response that word got.  What is the definition of being brave?  I think taking the initiative is definitely one of them.

Lou, thanks for your reminder that the only constant in life today is change; the choice is ours to stay ahead of it and stay relevant.

The wost decision is to not decide or take no action at all.   Move forward - even if it is a mistake, you can learn from it.

Change makes you flexible or rigid & I guess you choose how you want to react to it.  One good thing about AR is that we get to see the 'changes' somewhat earlier than the rest of the pack.  I think it's good that everyone here shares.

You have to take action ...the sooner the better. Even if you feel you are not 100% prepared in some cases.

If not for change - in the form of the Internet - I could not do what I do for a living. But I do admit that some of the changes make me crazy - especially when someone decides to fix things that weren't broken... my non-techie brain shorts out.

Lou I believe that when Change is needed, one must do it. Changed Real Estate Brokerages this year in April 2013. I see the difference in me now and how it is already going to help me close out the year strong and start off 2014 even stronger.

Being able to recognize opportunities and flexible to change directions or take action is a key element to changing your lifestyle. unfortunately, most people are reluctant to take action and therefore simply react and never reach their potential.

Thanks for that early morning pump! In the mortgage business change is eternal it seems. Every few months we brokers are faced with a new set of rules, many income reducing. One just has to not dwell on the negativity, but make revisions and move on.

Being ready for change can be a very difficult thing since change is difficult for anyone. There is good change and bad change, but in real estate change is occuring and a tremendous pace where you have to be prudent in what changes you take on to do. There is only so much time in the day.
