Calling all students who want to study about birds, come and participate in the Sarasota Audubon Society’s Bird-A-Thon.
When: November 9, 2013 Saturday

Bird-a-Thon for Students up to age 18
This is a special event. Come and join the free fun things to do and remember to bring your friends. Come to learn and study about wildlife, a variety of birds, their names, and their natures. Winners will get prizes as well as an opportunity to become a celebrity on both TV stations - the Education Channel and ABC 7.
Bird-a-Thon Teams
Students will be assigned to a team with a maximum of 10, and will be led by a local Audubon bird expert. You may bring your own team of 10 students or friends as well- you need to register in advance . (Parents are welcome to go along without participating in the game)Teams will walk around Celery Field for about an hour to identify and count as many bird species as they can. After that, the teams will return to the starting point at Palmer Blvd parking lot, by the hill.
Prizes for Bird-a-Thon Winners
The winning team will share a goodie basket
Each student will get a FREE Audubon Sticker with pelican logo
The first 100 students will get a FREE T-shirt
Each student will be entered into a FREE raffle for other prizes
Each student will be given a FREE checklist of Sarasota County birds
Insider Tips
Remember to bring a hat, put on sunscreen lotion or wearing long sleeves shirt and pants to avoid sunburn. If you have binoculars please bring along. (Sarasota Audubon Society will supply binoculars for sharing with your teammates. Water will be provided)
