Don't Let a Few Bad Apples Spoil View of Sacramento Real Estate Agents

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

There are days that I feel the public regards working with real estate agents as a necessary evil. They don't really want to talk to a Sacramento real estate agent, but they must.

I think part of that attitude is because they don't really understand how we work. They think we're all rolling in dough, sporting diamond tiaras and tossing the word darling into every other sentence during our conversations, pausing briefly only to toss back a martini with one hand and take a puff of our ecigarette with the other. Oh, the life of Riley. Just on a never-ending search for our next sucker, er, buyer.

Elizabeth,  That is pretty far out there to think that a local area specialist would cause a buyer to pay more just to increase their own home value.  I would say that person has some serious trust issues ... likely extending beyond real estate.

I hadn't heard that one either Elizabeth.  She probably believes in a few other conspiracies too.

P.S.  I can just see you in the tiara with a martini in one hand and a cigarette in the other hand with one of those extra long filter things. That could be your new profile picture.

I heard the reverse of that back during the crash.  It was all the agents that were taking low priced listings, driving down prices.  The market is what it is.  You are right.  Our duty is to our clients.  And this is why we also recommend buyers get appraisals so they DON'T overpay.

Don't get that very often here.  The Commission keeps a tight lid on agents who doesn't do what they should.

Hi Elizabeth, everytime I get in the car, my tiara falls off, I think I need a chin strap. I always head out with a Stanley Thermos of martinis and an e-cig in my back pocket... LOL

Thank goodness for buyers who appreciate our guidance and even call to say thank you for the Christmas card, those are the buyers we strive to keep, always putting their best interest above everything else.

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

Hi Kathleen: I think some people are just frightened because they don't really understand how real estate works, and they have to rely on a person they don't really know to advise and direct, and that can be scary.

Hi Jim: I am dressing up for Downton Abbey preview at the Crest next Tuesday! How did you know??

Hi Chris Ann: This woman's theory was different in that she didn't think a bunch of agents were manipulating prices, just the ones who live and work in a specific area. But we often get the blame, regardless.

Hi James: You guys are from the "show me the money" state, right?

Hi Mary: I thought in those Colorado winters your tiara freezes permanently to your head.
