Decorate Your House with a Theme...I love Snowmen

I am not a big collector and do not have something sitting everywhere as I feel sparse is good but during the holidays I like to decorate with a theme.

I go nuts over "Snowmen" so i try to find places to put them in most of the rooms of my house. I have taken some pictures to show off my snowmen and snowwomen. They are so festive and always have such cute expressions.

My house has a large area above the kitchen cabinets so it makes it easy to put most of them up high and so sweet the way they look down at us.

Hanging Stocking on the mantel is fun.

This was a gift from a friend and she sits on my couch during the holidays.

So no matter what your theme is, it is fun to decorate. Santa Clauses, Angels, Nutcrackers, Gingerbread men, or go with a solid color. I also use red plaid ornaments and ribbon on the tree.

So whatever you love to collect, decorate your home and enjoy......

Kristin, your post made me happy this morning! I can't think of anyone who isn't fond of snowman. Whether it's building your own after a fresh pile of snow or decorating, a snowman is always a welcome addition. Some are only temporary because of the weather... others are keepers and get to stay indoors, year-round! Now that's what I call fun!!!

Yes, i totally agree that snowmen bring smiles on everyone's faces and the real snowmen made of snow are so fun to make. I still love to watch 'Frosty the Snowman" on TV every December and then I sing the song for days afterwards.

Kristen~ I love the idea of a theme. We don't really have one. My tree is full of many different beautiful ornaments. I just like lots of color and I have that. One thing that we did start "collecting" (sort of) is Nutcrackers. My husband likes them, so I try to get a new one every year.

I have a kitchen tree too with cookies, cupcakes, pans, and plaid ribbon on the big tree with plaid ornaments. Unfortunately no one had plaid ornaments this year. Then on one of my kids little trees, we have all snowmen and gingerbread on the other small one.

My daughter love nutcrackers and they are so fun to collect with all the different occupations and costumes. We would all like to see pictures of your nutcrackers. Happy Holidays.
