The First Day of Winter... Florida-Style

The calendar says "Winter Begins" on this day, the 21st of December but here in Florida, the weather does not go by what the calendar says.

The weather forecast for our area around Spring Hill and Hernando Beach predicts temperatures going up to the high 80s - perfect weather for swimming and other outdoor activities. It could be record warmth for this time of the year but Floridians are a hardy bunch and adjust. We will just get out Christmas shorts and T-Shirts out and enjoy some beach time this weekend!

For our northern friends who have to endure some colder temps, don't worry, just in time for Christmas, our temperatures will go down again as well, at this moment they are predicted to be in the mid 60's.

The first day of winter.... Florida-style... it's a way of life!
