Goals for My Real Estate Career and Family in 2014
We are now in a new age, a "Modern Technology Age". Most of us now have home computers, laptops, iPads, Smart Phones, Scanners and in rare cases still use a fax machine. My goal it to continue to become more "techy" as the year goes on. I attend real estate seminars, webinars and just went to Women's Council of Realtors where I learned a lot of new technical information to do power point presentations. This is really going to help my business grow
Digital Signatures are the greatest thing that ever happened in the life of a Realtor. No matter where your client is, you can email them the documents to initial or sign with the click of a mouse. I just completed a transaction where the seller had gone out of state and she received and returned the documents and we just closed the file. No frustration and no stress. Ten years ago we would have been sending the documents via FedEX with mailing fees and waiting for them to arrive and be mailed back.
Websites are so important as perspective buyers and sellers will look at our site and make sure we are internet savvy. Most want an agent that has this expertise as they are too busy to be running to offices or making appointments at night. I update my websites monthly and make sure all my links work as nothing is more irritating to click on a link and have it show it is not valid. Grrrrrrrrrrr
iPad: I think the iPad is great as I can meet with my client, prepare an offers and counters and with their finger or stylus, can sign the document. Then with a click, the document is in the other agent's inbox so there is not any wasted time. I love this iPad technology and can also copy checks to send to my file or the other agent's email by just scanning the check and making it a PDF and away it goes in our email. Way cool.
Smart Phones are so important; reading your email and responding, going on the internet, texting back immediately, taking pictures and emailing or texting with no time lag, and you have a thousand apps available and pretty much can do any real estate task necessary. This is my big focus for the year. I take every iPad class I find and want to become totally self sufficient on the iPad and not have to drag my laptop around. What I can do on my iPhone I can also do on my smart phone too.
Google+- Google has so many tools to use to help my business succeed. I love to read newss from Google and take advantage of the tools? Google Alerts, Editing Tools, Google+ and Google Voice which something new.
Social Media Sites- This is a place I need to be be consistant as I will sometimes get really busy and then ignore my social media sites so one of my goals is to say consistant and post more items on my Realtor Page.
Personal Life- Goal here is to get more organized and try to keep my business and family seperated as right now it is so intermingled and my family feels I prefer my clients over them sometimes.
Vacation 2014- OK this one is pretty much for sure as my family is going on a cruise this June to Hawaii unless the cruise line cancels my trip like they did in 2013 when the ship got stuck in Alaska.
