Despite the cold weather the real estate market in Northern Virginia is still moving along. According to the MLS since January 1, 2104 there have been 109 properties in Prince William County go under contract and 247 in Fairfax County.

One of the biggest things I've encountered this week while out looking at houses in snow and slush. If you are a seller in Northern Virginia here are a few tips for you to consider.

If you are out of the area talk to your agent, neighbor or local landscaping company about getting someone to your house to clear it for you. Don't take the chance that someone might slip and fall on the way to your front door.

its a different world for showing where you are than here. We rarely have to deal with snow but it has been COLD!

Brian yes whenever I watch one of the Alaska real estate shows I think WOW that's dedication.

Debbie I was in a vacatn house yesterday as the sun was going down and it was 40 degrees inside.
