Nina our High School does a program at the school like this, and it is a blessing to many of the female students at the High School.  So I am happy to see that it is done else where as well, and you getting the word out for donations is a special service to many.

Kerry, it's a fabulous idea for so many girls who don't have financial resources with proms costing so much these days.

What a great program, Nina.  I hope that they raise enough to help all the students that are in need.

Gabe... last year the facility where they did this program could only accommodate 80 girls. It's a much bigger facility this year and they've alrady collected 600 dressed... so hopefully many more girls can be helped out.

Nina-That is a great idea. Since most prom dresses are only used once or twice, making them available to others is a nice service.

Wayne... not only that... but if you look at the cost of attending prom these days, it's amazing any of these kids can afford it.

This is an annual event in my area also and every year, the need is greater and the program continues to expand. Everyone should have a chance to attend their Prom.

You are so right, Diana... terrible to think that someone would think back 20 years later and not have been able to attend because they couldn't afford a dress.

Nina, I love this idea. I think every major city should have a similar program.

Tammie... there are actually quite a few cities that do have this type of program--and interestingly there seems to be little to no correlation as to geographic area, size of city, etc.
