“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference” Robert Frost
As a business coach I am always proud of my clients as they achieve their goals and have success. The success always comes when the client gets out of his or her comfort zone. I have written about this before on my website blog and here on Active Rain.
Today, I want to share my pride in the actions and achievement of one of my daughters. Of course I know that I am prejudiced but I am happy to have two daughters that are achievers. My younger daughter is a Millennial who is building her professional career in New York. She realizes that there are risks and rewards when making her career decisions.
So here is her story. She has goals for her personal and career growth. There came a time to look the position not only for today but for the future. Many Baby Boomers believed in staying put and waiting their turn. In case you don’t already know that is not the case with Millennials. They actually think more like entrepreneurs and weigh the rewards against the risks. With that in mind she searched for her next step. To make a long story short, she found another position at another location within the same company. She is taking it with the blessing of her current manager who referred to her as a “rising star.” She did not know that would all fall into place but she took the risk. This was yesterday, April 1st.
She texted us her horoscope for the day here:
And, of course, another quote from that famous philosopher:
“When you come to a fork in the road, take it.” Yogi Berra
