Hernando County Fair and Livestock Show in Brooksville, Florida

The Hernando Couny Fair and Livestock Show began yesterday at the Fairgrounds in Brooksville, Florida.

This is the 63rd annual Hernando County Fair and we went out yesterday to watch the 4H Youth rabbit show and competititon. It's always fun to watch the enthusiasm of these young kids in handling their animals.

The fair continues throughout the April 12, 2014 with fun for the entire family including a circus, contests, live entertainment, a truck and tractor pull, rides and games, and of course the livestock shows and auction.

Normal admission is $8.00/adult and $4.00/children 6-12. Parking is free.

There are special admission days for military appreciation day and senior citizen day. For a complete schedule of opening times go to www.hernandofairgrounds.com.

George, I went the first day and will go again later this week.

Debbie, many people don't realize that Florida has a lot of agriculture and traditionally also is a large cattle producer. So aside from 4H, we also have FFA (Future Farmers of America) youth represented at the fair!
