There are a number of different factors which contribute to the shifting and moving of individuals and families from one state or part of the country to the other. Moving from one place to a new one is not an easy task, and requires considerable planning and efforts, not to mention trying to come to terms with the major change in life which is just round the corner.

Therefore, the reasons which inspire and motivate an individual or a family to move to a new place are necessarily very significant, with an expected positive impact on the overall lifestyle. The past trends have displayed a shift of mid-westerners moving towards the Southwest Florida area, which has seen a boom in the real estate market.

Besides the fun of being a vacation spot for many, Southwest Florida attracts a large population of mid-westerners to the area, because of the great job opportunities and industrial growth within the area. While Southwest Florida is popularly known as the ideal vacation spot because of its beaches and a retirement venue, but the reason for the shifting population is mainly because of the available career opportunities within the area.

Some towns within the Southwest Florida qualify for the best places to retire, because of the warm weather, comfortable winters, pretty down town areas, variety of adult communities and interesting activities to choose from. The beauty of the coastline attracts visitors and tourists, and serves a great attraction for people who resort to shift to the Southwest Florida area.

With the mid-westerners having preferred the Southwest Florida as an ideal location to shift to, for over more than a decade, northerners have also recognized the benefits offered by the region and have resorted to shift to the area in large numbers.

Affluent and sophisticated housing units and properties with a variety of amenities are the requirements of the Mid-westerners, Northerners and other individuals, who are moving to the Southwest Florida area. As most families and individuals moving to the locality are shifting from wealthy states, they are used to and thus require expensive homes and vital amenities for residing within the area.

Moving from affluent states, most individuals are used to a certain kind of lifestyle and pattern, which they seek in the Southwest Florida area as well. The real estate market of the area has recognized the needs of the shifting population, and are devising and planning suitable real estate projects, which would answer their demands and thus present the locality as the ideal locality to shift to and live in comfortably.

As Southwest Florida has so much to offer, the constantly rising number of individuals shifting to the region need to be offered with suitable housing neighborhoods and property localities, which can serve to attract hesitant families to the area.

Over the years, there has been a significant rise and change in the demand for housing units needed to meet the demands of the customer market, because the clientele of the Southwest Florida region is now composed of a variety of individuals who have shifted from different states in the country. It has opened up new opportunities and venues for improvement as well as exploration for the real estate industry of the region.

Dick, excellent overview of Southwest Florida. Hiring an agent who has sophisticated knowledge of the market is critical, for buyers and sellers. I know if I was relocating to the area, you'd be the one to call. Well done.

The I-75 highway one of the biggest factors that SW Florida lures mid-westerners from Michigan, etc.  You literally hop on and never get off until you get to Paradise!

Dick - I do think that the traffic and interstate have something to do with it.  Northeast comes down 95 to the East coast but the mid west uses 75.

So many Maryland residents are moving to Florida that it has become a transfer of wealth issue for Maryland. High taxes, high home prices and winter snow are motivating factors.

Great post Dick. I didn't know that there are more career opportunities due to industrial growth. That is even better for people who do not want to experience cold winter! I would never go back to 4 season climate.
