Long before this country took form and opened up her heart to hundreds of millions of people that call America home, she was a thought, an expression and a dream in the hearts of many in search of its own legs. Like minded people all got together and started something that hasn't stopped to this day... America speaking up
BACK IT UP
What makes it all great is how much opposition there was coming against what we take for granted today back then at its inception. To even talk about freedom and rights in the beginning was like asking for a death sentence. Those that did speak up had to back it up or what was the point?
THE UNKNOWN CORNERSTONES
They did speak up! Who are these people? They were types of you and me really but more importantly, they wouldn't take NO for an answer. Believe me, NO kept coming up frequently and persistently and each time it did, it was met with what we call the American way today. We will NOT disperse and many died to prove that point
STAND BESIDE HER TOOK PLACE
The price for not taking NO as an answer and refusing to go along? YOUR LIFE! It all boiled down to that. If you weren't willing to go all the way, then the American way would not be here today. Some fellow..and then another and still more took a stand and others were moved by it. The ultimate price was demanded and the paid...life
FINALLY...ONE VOICE WAS HEARD
Anyone who died believed they were doing the right thing at that time. They were all in and that action speaks louder than any words I know of. You see many had to speak for the collective person, place or thing that couldn't speak as one until the day came when it could speak for itself
WE WONT TAKE NO...FOR AN ANSWER
So much opposition presented itself and said NO, one after another hoping to crush the dream and the people behind it until these early American people advanced at all costs, broke through, hit their milestones and then finally a permanent victory took hold
YES IS HERE TO STAY
All those No's turned into one big roaring, joyful United YES and America the beautiful was born. To this day, there are still forces bent on feeding America NO and we wont have it. Too many died saying yes and that yes ...is here to stay..... thank you
AMERICA....AMERICA...SHE HAS A GOD GIVEN GRACE
And...crown thy hood with brotherhood from sea to shining sea....says it all
