Happy Father's Day To Best Day In The Whole Wide World!!!

My Dad

My Dad "Ernest Martone" made a decision seventy three years ago that would forever change my life! He decided to adopt a two year old girl that his friend no longer wanted. That little girl was me.

As I write this, tears come to my eyes and my heart fills with love and appreciation for the man that became My Father out of choice. Five years after adopting me he had a daughter of his blood but he never in any way differentiated between the two of us.  We were his girls and he was our Father.

My Father was an honorable men, a man of great integrity and most of all a man that taught me how to live my life not by his words but by his actions. I thank him for being the force behind all that I am that is good and of value to this world that I live in.

I also want to say that when I was 22 years old the man that fathered me came to me to tell me he was my father.  I looked at this man and I said, "No you are not my Father, Ernest Martone is my Father and I have no desire to ever see you again."  And... I never did!

How many Fathers walk away from their children when they are young? Perhaps they don't give them up for legal adoption but they may as well. And then when someone else has done the job that they should have done they come back to make their father claim!

With great certainty I say these words, "There is much more to being a Father than being the breeder of the child."  I also do not think that  the Father Title should earn a Father Respect, respect in my opinion should be earned by the deeds of the Father not his title.

My Dad believed and instilled in me the belief that the most important thing we have to give to others is our word, and he taught me the importance of keeping my word when I give it.

When he adopted me he gave me his word that he would be all that I could ever want in a Father and he kept his word. He gave me his word that he would love me all the days of his life and that he did; and all the days of my life with all my heart and total being I shall love him and be eternally grateful that he told his friend, "I'll adopt Beth".

I love you Daddy. Thank you!
