I recently helped a retired couple relocate to Fort Wayne from the deep South.
They were the sweetest people in the world when I first met them, but during the transaction they got a little grumpy.
I can't say that I blame them.
Imagine putting everything in your Realtor's hands when you're halfway across the country and can't see anything with your own eyes.
That had to be a helpless feeling.
They were stressed during the process, especially during the inspection.
We got everything figured out, and to say that I (Jared) went above and beyond for these clients would be an understatement.
I can't even count the number of times I drove across town to let different people in for quotes, for the inspection, for the appraisal, and for their family to see it.
It was worth it.
We closed last week and I'm helping coordinate a lot of things for them during their move.
I got a voice mail from my buyers late Friday night after the closing.
"Jared, I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you've done for us. We appreciate it more than you know."
It's those little moments that remind us why we do what we do.
Customer service comes first.
Period.
Everything else works itself out.
I love what I do.
