YOU HAVE ACTIVATED SELF-DESTRUCT

I just lost a post. This is not a complaint nor am I upset because I am taking the obvious LEMON episode and turning into lemonade right now instead of drinking it your reading it. What Happened? Only my fingers know for sure and they are not talking. I was putting together a post, typing and making tracks....

POOF...BYE BYE

When all of a sudden, my "flash" fingers hit or did something that my mind doesn't know about and not only did the post go, but the whole log-in went bye-bye with it. It moved slow enough when leaving to almost smirk at me as it went. "Take this"...... and it was gone. If I activated some sort a self-destruct I want a warning at least...a countdown and then a way to cancel it out...

WHAAAAT?

I quickly chased after it! No hint to this secret escape route that the post skedaddles into. I have known about this for years and occasionally it has claimed posts but nothing happened for months now. I did notice that if I get a decent subject going and unleash my fingers...the risk increases

I AM ON TO YOU

I also noticed that the trigger or escape hatch is located on the right side of the post, near the bottom somewhere and then, a certain type finger movement (pinkie), a spell check correction right before and a feeling of I will be launching this any second all kick in and POOF...the thing is gone...just like that

ROUND UP THE USUAL SUSPECTS

Now, I have tried back button, logging back in and going to drafts. With the new auto save every three minutes, I had hope. The problem was that I was in the home stretch when doing this and under the three minute mark for saving.

THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES...(bob hope)

Consequently what auto save gave back to me was bare bones...a skeleton of works, a remnant of a toasty posty ready to go and earn its keep in points and pleasure out in ACTIVERAIN-LAND. In its place, in memorial instead...is this post....

THE POST EATER

I have progressed on this post eater problem in this respect. The first few times in happened over the years, it floored me and had its way with me. Now, because of exposure and experience to this, I can just let it go although I ponder it ever so slightly as to its prowess

POST BAIT

One day, I will type a post as BAIT and try to activate this hidden system. I will beckon to it, find it and deal with it but all in good time. You see if I dwell on it, it wins...Whatever it is that eats posts at my place...I am on to you....

Good morning Richie,

Being a hen pecker  I generally do not have this problem!

With continued searching it is in cyberspace somewhere!

Make yourself a great day.

Hi Richie - I, too, have lost posts in progress that way. Now I try to remember to hit "save" multiple times if I'm writing a long post, or inserting lots of photos. It certainly is frustrating, but in the large scheme of things, a little thing not worthy of our angst.

Richie - I hate when that happens. My problem is when I hit the mouse and it takes my back to the page I was on previously and when I return - all it lost. At least you got a blog idea out of it.

Richie~ I've had the "magic fingers" disappearing post issue happen to me. It's such a shock when it happens, you wish you could rewind time in slow motion or something, but it's just gone and that's the way it is! UGH!
