Early voting in North Carolina starts today, October 23rd, 2014 and runs through November 1st, 2014. And while it's not a presidential election year or a gubernatorial election year in North Carolina, which always increase the number of voters, we have some very important races going on, including one for Senator.
We all love to complain about our government and officials, but let's keep in mind that it's our votes (or lack thereof) that put many of the officials we complain about in place. I've always felt that if you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain. If more people took the time to vote, I bet we'd be happier with the results. Early voting makes it easy to vote.

North Carolina's "Vote In Honor Of A Veteran" program, which was launched some six years ago, has now honored over 2,000 veterans for their service. You can honor a Veteran on Election Day by requesting a pin and/or sharing a story, that may be posted on the North Carolina State Board of Elections website. What could be better than performing an important civic duty like voting and honoring a veteran at the same time?
