Gas explosion at my favorite London Hotel

By
Industry Observer

I had just finished booking our hotel for our annual London trip a week ago Saturday. Yesterday evening I found out that there had been a small gas explosion in the basement of the hotel early Saturday morning. All 300 guests were evacuated and put up at other hotels 14 people were injured all hotel associates. They are still trying to assess the damage to the structure of the hotel. Thank goodness nobody was seriously injured and all people were accounted for. I hope that the Hyatt Churchill will be back in business soon!

Oh so sorry that your favorite hotel was damaged. I hope the owners will be able to get back into it before your trip!

The image that you posted is so cool! Looks like a great little nook to sit in with that sculpture!

I just comment on Bobs post that I may host a meet up this next round. I hope you two will come. I haven't decided where. I actually found out some agents that are located in League City are now on Active Rain but I can't remember their names! This is what happens when you get old!

Yolanda Cordova-Gilbert that would be pretty scary and to know you will be staying at this hotel.   Hope they found the cause for the gas explosion!

Yolanda , it is a good thing no one was seriously injured and hopefully the building has no serious damage. London is such an old city and the gas line must have had some issues.
