We grilled steaks last night which is usually our Saturday night fare, but the kids bailed on us Sunday so we had steaks left and decided to grill them and watch the “Big Game.” After reading Endre Barth’s wine series, I was ready to taste a California Cabernet that I had not had in a while so I got the Hess Allomi out. It was very good rich intense taste with a berry taste with a hint of toasted cedar to me. It went very well with our steaks. The price at the store is $22.67 but I always buy 6 wines or more so I get a 10% discount so it was close to $20, I rate it at a good value at $20.
