Jack is Not a Breakfast Food

I ran into a fellow named Thor today who manages the airport in International Falls.

After exchanging hugs and kisses with Jack, he told me how many problems sled dog kennels are having with Canis Lupus.

He said sled dogs are a wolf's favorite food.

I told him that I am holding tight and keeping an eye on Jack, I did not get a chance to tell him that I had already written a blog on the topic a few days ago; (Keep an eye on your Dogs while traveling in Northern Wolf Country).

Jack will continue to be attached to the leash which is securely hooked to my belt when ever he leaves the truck.

Well make sure he's not lunch, dinner, or a between meal snack either!

Good morning Bob Crane -

Jack looks like a sharp dog and one that would stay out of harms way if at all possible.  We are having a huge problem in our area with Coyotes.  Many small dogs and cats are missing and we have encountered 4 large, healthy, non-fearing Coyotes in our community while walking Dixie Dawg.  She seems oblivious to the danger but we're keeping a much closer eye on her these days.

Hi Bob - I imagine it would take a determined pack to take Jack down, but it's best not to find out. No wolves here, but Mario, our small emergency backup dog, has to worry about coyotes and amibitous owls, hawks and eagles.

Hi Bob,

I would do the same, and we have coyotes in our area.  Luckily in our present abode we have high solid fence, and below the fence we have wire mesh, as the racoons also show up for a visit...so our little deck area is secure for our cat to play in.  A

Bob looks like Jacks dad is taking good care of him!  We too have a problem here in Phoenix and have to be careful of pets being outside alone. Coyotes are close by and on the look out all the time. From time to time we've got a owl that's waiting and watching hoping our 20 year old cat comes out.

That gives me a shudder down the spine just thinking of anyone's pet dog being attacked by a wolf.  Stay safe.
