Things Are Missed If It's Not Raining
There is a lack of rainfall in California again this year, the that is not a good thing. I am sure that rationing and restrictions will be on the agenda in the next few months if things do not change. Other things can be effected by the lack of rain.
Roof leaks, gutter damage and moisture intrusion problems may be just waiting to resurface. Just think about all the moisture related damages that may have gone unrepaired since it is not raining. I think this is more common than you may think.
I have called back on estimates only to hear that they have forgotten about the problem. Approval waiting because it wasn't getting worse and tenants have moved, the unit painted and new tenants moved in. Everything is okay for now.
So there are roofs with known leaks, gutters that are falling off the building, and even sheetrock with water damage that has dried up. If this is not something that you see on a regular basis, you may miss it too. But it will come back once the rains have begun again.
So what are your options when it comes to these water damage repairs? It would be a good idea to write down all of the areas of known water leaks, leaks that have caused a problem in the past. Next, contact someone qualified to at least inspect the area that have suffered moisture damage. There may be water damage repair general contractors in your area who specialize in these sorts of repairs.
Why fix these now, it's not raining?
The best time to make these repairs are when the weather is clear. Don't put off those repairs that you know will be leaking when it rains. The sooner that these are done the better.
