I remember a tough no nonsense daddy from my childhood. But becoming a "grand-diddy" as my Abigail calls him was a very daddy changing event. I have known my daddy loved me every minute of my life, but I would venture to say he loves my daughter more. Maybe I felt that way because for the first 12 years of her life when I wasn't married and it was Before Donald... my daddy was the one who played catch, went to her ball games and was her biggest male role model. I love many photos of Abigail and my daddy, but this one of him in a box with her on the floor is one of my favorite.
Got to love going through pictures and thinking of memories, he sure seems like a great guy. Have a great evening!

That is too precious. Only a loving granddad would get in a box like that. LOL :-) How cute

The thing about grandkids is you get to have all the fun with a whole lot less responsibility.
At my house if a grandkid is naughty, it's because Nana didn't get spanked!

My adult kids have asked me "who are you? I don't remember you being like this growing up." Grandkids are special.

I love this photo! Thank you for sharing your story with us. You are right it is very different to be a grandparent. So much more fun and less stressful. When we have time with the grandchildren I do the things I wish I would have done with our children. The fun silly things that make them smile and say 'oh, Nana!' followed by a big hug.
Hello Tammy ... that is a priceless photo and your post has been featured to the group:

That is such a precious photo! How lucky your little girl is to have had such a role model!
Great photo. I am convinced that Dad AND Mom both loved the grandkids much more than me or my sisters. When I got over that self-centered thought, it did come to my attention that Dad and Mom simply had much more time for the grandkids. Apparently, so didn't your Dad.
That is just such a neat photo.
