It rained today.
It rained on June 18th 27 years ago too.
I was walking out my first door to put some garbage out and it had started to rain. My windows were down in my truck and my mind switched from taking out the trash to rolling up the windows, my body however was fully committed to taking out the trash. My baby was at the time 4 days late already and when you are walking around with that kind of load out front you can't just change directions on a whim. I fell, not hard, but enough to scare my family and myself. The next day I had a few contractions, but I didn't tell anyone. Then in the very early hours of Monday June 20th I decided it was time to head to the hospital. My baby girl arrived at 4:15 that afternoon. This photo was taken a little after 8 p.m. that night. This was her first bottle. I remember that moment just like it was yesterday and it's so difficult to believe that 27 years have slipped past.
