In follow up to a recent post on Flower Mound Parks & Trails, I am proud to announce the Town of Flower Mound is the recipient of the 2015 Texas Gold Medal Award recognized for its excellence in the field of Parks & Recreation Management by the Texas Recreation and Parks Society.
The 2015 Texas Gold Medal Award is a prestigious award honoring communities throughout the state (Texas has 268,820 square miles) that demonstrates "excellence in long-range planning, resource management, community programs and events, marketing efforts, and agency recognition during the last three years."

During the past three years positive growth to benefit sustainability for the Town of Flower mound included the following:
- The Town added 360 acres of park land.
- Added ~approximately 25 miles paved multipurpose trails
- 5 additional 5 acres of multipurpose game fields.
- 11 game fields were renovated.
- 42 of 52 parks improvement projects are 75% complete.
- The new 23,000 sq. ft Senior Center was completed in 5/15.
- More residents enjoy outdoor entertainment and events.
