The act of bees collecting pollen is in high action in my yard !

We have several Crepe Myrtle trees in bloom and after a hard rain yesterday the bees have returned with the sunshine to fill their baskets.

Did you know about POLLEN BASKETS (link) ?

Yes, bees have a space designated on their back legs to carry around their pollen collection.

Hundreds of bees are working away today in my yard.

The Crepe Myrtle is widely seen this time of year in Eastern NC in full bloom..purples, reds, pinks, whites..

I realize the Long Leaf Pine may be the "State Tree" but if you ask anyone living in ENC, they probably would answer

"The Crepe Myrtle " !!

How lucky you are to live where those beautiful crepe myrtles grow. We are too far north for them to live, and those bees sure do appreciate having them. Amazing those bumble bees can even get airborne; like a refrigerator with wings!

Joan Cox I even have clients who are bee keepers. They tell me you should always eat honey that is local to where you live so the allergies you face are helped by the pollen the bee uses ... Whether that is true or not, I have no idea !
But, I love the clover honey
