I am a little bit City...

Reblogger Vern Eaton
Real Estate Agent

William (Bill to me) has written a parallel blog to his previous blog of buying hunting land.

Like in his previous blog, Bill points out many of the aspects that buyers need to be watching out for.

For those who have never purchased property before, that is what an agent is supposed to do for you.

Look at both blogs and and keep the questions in mind...

I talk a lot about my rural living and work.

But that does not limit me to only working in the open air.

North Branch, Minnesota is a Bedroom community.

So, for those who like living in town close to shopping and schools for the kids, there are things to consider...

Does this in town home have enough storage for our families stuff.

Can I build a second garage or add onto the current one.

How about a garden shed.

Are there any covenants?

Is it city water and sewer.

Are we people persons.  Are you ok with saying hi to the neighbors every time you walk out of the house.

My commute to work, is it long, easy roads and will the gas mileage of my vehicle break me.

These are just a few issues to think about when buying any in town home.

Each has it's advantages, travel times and gas seems to be a big decided factor of where people buy. I always point out that it is a home so they must enjoy the location.

Vern, thatks for the re-blog...It is true that there is so much to consider and many things the buyer does consider even without knowing they are doing so.

When I was a kid growing up, I lived in a neighborhood, where we had a library, a post office, and a little business area, all within a couple blocks.  Ditto for a park and swimming pool.  My school was a block and a half away.  I dreamed of being in the burbs, and when I started raising a family, that's where we moved to.  Yet, I admire my friends who have several acres, and quiet surroundings as well.

Nice choice for a re-blog. For whatever reason, I end up doing a lot of homes with acreage, which many lenders don't do or can't do. They can be a challenges, which I don't mind.

Great choice for a reblog.

A buyer has to have a plan or a good realtor who knows what to do.
