How to Know Which is YOUR Bread Plate & Water Glass
So you're at an event and the place-settings are touching end-to-end and you can see people trying to figure out which one is their bread plate or their water glass. The answer is literally at your fingertips!
You no longer have to wait for someone "in-the-know" to select one and then you do the math and count from that spot around the table to get to YOURS! Now YOU will be that in-the-know person.
You will know immediately and reach for your water glass with confidence. It's easy.
STEP ONE
Stick both of your hands straight out and and on each hand ... make a circle using your index finger and thumb ... with the remaining fingers pointing straight up!
STEP TWO - Look Down at your Hands!
Notice that your left hand resembles the lower-case alphabet letter "b" and b = bread --- your left side is your bread plate.
Notice your right hand resembles the lower-case alphabet letter "d" and d= drink --- your right side is your water glass.
Now I personally, would not stand at the table and do this ... I might do it in the car before I come in ... or surreptitiously stick my hands under the table and figure it out ...but it's up to you.
Now YOU are the person in-the-know!

Thank you Judith, I would not have had a clue.
Now when I go to a formal dinner and start to do my Junior Birdman impression others may laugh, but at least I will know which glass is mine.
