You Will Become . . . . Your Habits

“Motivation is what gets you started.

Habits is what keeps you goings."

Jim Ryun, American Track and Field Athlete who

won a silver Medal  in the 1968 Sumner  Olympics

As I see it. . . . . . . .

You will become . . . .  your habits

Your habits become ingrained in your subconscious mind . . . . As a result you will act out your habits through your actions . . . . and in your attitude.  You will fall into your comfort zone . . . . and fall back on our habits.

Your good habits keep you moving in the right direction . . . . and contribute to your long term success and happiness.

Focus your energy on forming proactive success habits and implement them to create forward momentum. As you do you’re be setting your internal guidance system to keep you moving in the right direction on your success journey to achieve your goals.

You will become . . . . Your habits . . . . and habits will determine the direction that your live moves in.

Lou- I'll bet that athletes practice this!  We have to make a habit of doing what we need to do to achieve our goals.

Very good point!  In my martial arts training and firearm training we always say and hear (I heard it at this morning's training class I took), muscle memory is key.  When the adrenaline pumps and the situation goes south you revert to the level of your training and muscle memory kicks in.  Example: when I earned my black belt part of the test was a free style "Randori" session with 10 attackers (yes, you read that right, 10 bad guys).  We had to defend against each attacker.  I can tell you from that experience, every plan I had about doing fancy moves went straight out the window.  I was doing some of the most basic techniques that first learned when I started 10 years earlier (and had been teaching and refreshing in over that time period).  Fancy newer stuff went out the window and I reverted to what my body instinctively did on it's own (since my brain had shut off at that point... especially after that punch I took to the face).

The mantra I learned in martial arts and that I use when I teach firearms: "Practice makes permanent, perfect practice makes perfect."
