This is a very interesting blog from Jeffrey Stevens of New Mexico.

I think we all struggle with just how much time we should spend in any virutal platform. Sounds like he was about ready to ditch Facebook for a while, when BAM, a Facebook friend reached out to him to sell a house.

We just never know where our next deal is going to come from. We need to have balance and not let anyone area drain our time.

Jeffrey is on his way to making it to the 200,000 milestone.

More Time On ActiveRain and Less time on Facebook

For 2016 one of the items on my to-do list was to spend less time on the time-suck known as Facebook.

I don't mean to bad mouth the platform. In fact, I still use it often but now try to focus my time exclusively for my business.

It's nice to get away from the endless scrolling and scanning of everyday babel from friends and family, some of it informative but most of it completely useless.

Bye, bye Facebook. Now I spend more time writing and reading blog posts on ActiveRain. I'm going to hit that 200,000 mark yet...and beyond!

Update: I started this post yesterday. By the time I got around to publishing, I had a message from a friend on Facebook asking me to sell her house. So there you go, Facebook. You're still relevant after all! :)

I haven't had any success with Facebook. Anita Clark certainly has, and she is a big proponent. I find Facebook pretty shallow as a whole, and tend to feel it's best to stay away from posting too much there...but who knows? I'm probably not doing it right. Lol.

Belinda... great choice for a re-blog. I limit my time on Facebook to about 15 minutes a day and even that may be more than what I really spend on it. And much of that time is while I'm sitting at traffic lights waiting for the light to change.

Great re-blog, I found Jeffrey Stevens when he was 20,000+ trying to send him a referral that didn't work out. I have been following him and boy has he hit the AR running, soon he will hit the mile marker. I don't do much either with FB but I know many do use it. I do receive a few referrals from time to time like the one I sent you Belinda Spillman from FB.

Good morning Belinda, it depends what it is you do on FB, I will increase the time I spend on FB even more this year than I have in the past. Sharing market stats every now and then is not very engaging and probably won't generate any business. Targeted ads, engaging in community groups and dark posts will definitely generate leads, after that, it's all in the follow up.
