120 Years of Supporting Rural Living - Orchards Feed Store
Orchards Feed Mill has a new building, but its long history of customer service and commitment to the rural lifestyle continues. Now managed by a third generation family member, Loren Carlson has been active in the community for years. With a BS degree in Animal Science, he brings his knowledge of nutrition and care to his customers. In 1889, the store supplied feed to area farmers raising, cows, rabbits, chickens, and pigs. Today, the store has expanded to include food for dogs and cats, horses, and area wildlife.
New Building - Same Great Customer Service
In addition, their new building includes an Ace Hardware and they are now Stihl dealers. It's one of those charming country stores where you're likely to find some wonderful treasures. Currently, with Spring in the air, Orchards Feed Store's Garden Center is gearing up for busy season. In fact, we recently noticed the store is beginning to carry information on "How to raise bees." If you have a question about gardening, Renee and Vera bring more than 50 years of experience and love to talk dirt, mud, plants, insects, and grass...
If you're toying with the idea of raising chickens, Orchards Feed has a variety of chicks that began arriving this month. They can surely help you decide what type of chicks would be best for your family's needs. They even have baby turkeys and ducks. If you'd like to pre-order, they encourage you stop by and let them know exactly what you want.
One of the events we especially appreciate is the Good Neighbor Vet visits each weekend. The Vet Mobile is a low cost vet that comes to the North parking lot of the Feed store every Saturday.
