Of course you don't want buyers or sellers going away when they find you on line, but recently when a friend asked me to look at something before he made it live on his site and I discovered he didn't "unclick" the button it made me take notice of how many others do not as well.
What am I talking about? Youtube videos. At the end of embeded or linked videos it will automatically give the viewer "suggestions" of other videos to watch.
See the two videos below.
Actually you don't really have to watch them, just let them play. Even both at the same time, because it's the end of them that's important. In the youtube embedded video that my friend sent me to see it actually showed someone in his competition's video as a "suggested viewing" to the watcher. Do you really want to send those people over to your competition? I didn't think so, so here's what to do.
When you go and get your youtube embed code to place the video in your blog or on your page there is the little "SHOW MORE" at the bottom. Believe me, you always want to see more when there there is more to be seen.
In the first one I left it as it was and it has the check mark in the "show suggested videos when the video finishes" . Now that would be well and good if all the videos it suggested were mine, but they are not. With this video none of the suggested ones above are my direct competition and some are even my other videos. But if the video were instead a listing then perhaps on any given day it would be another listing with another agent at another firm. NOT COOL.
Simply uncheck that box and then the only thing that will happen is they viewer will have the option to replay. You can also uncheck the box for showing the title and viewer actions as well, but I never mind if my titles show. When it's truly a home video then my title has SEO power and I sure want it to show.
So if you are embedding videos you might want to know that you don't have to potentially send your viewers away and you might want to check out where you might be sending them.
