Are there Tiny Houses in Spring Hill Florida?
Watching TV these days, the nation appears to have been swept up in the tiny house phenomena. It sure is fascinating to see how all the functions of a "normal" house are being fit into a tiny space, sometimes just a couple hunded square feet.
So just for fun, are there tiny houses in the Spring Hill Florida area?
A search in the Multiple Listing Service brought up 28 homes that had less than 1000 square feet of living space. Living space is defined as all space that is heated and air conditioned.
The smallest living space currently available is 400 square feet with two bedrooms, family room, kitchen and bath. However, this space is part of a larger pole barn structure sitting on over 13 acres of land. With all that land, raising chickens and planting your own beans and corn would be a viable option and a good step forward for anyone who wants to live a self sustainable life.
The next size up is an old Florida "cracker" house built in 1949 with 682 square feet of living area.
While there are certainly some smaller homes available in our area, sizewise they are starting at the larger end of what is considered a "tiny" home of 100-400 square feet.
So what about tiny manufactured homes?
A search for manufactured homes under 400 square feet returned three homes ranging from 208 to 280 square feet in living area. To be fair, here again, each one of these tiny houses had some additional space that is not under heat and air but could be used for storage or outdoor living.
