September 2016 is Declutter Monthclutter

(Time for an encore presentation that may inspire myself and others to clear a bit of detritus and get organized.)

Last year August was declutter month as part of the Active Rain Cloudburst challenge which involved decluttering our offices, which was just perfect for this month as we are moving our office across town and of course getting rid of a lot of clutter along the way.

The main problem with August as declutter month is that it is also lease renewal month and back to school.  So with things calming down a little in September I have decided to move declutter month to a better date.

Last year I did make a lot of progress but there is much more to do so I will be repeating the challenge again this year.

Instead of just doing a bit of office cleaning, I will be going all out and trying to finally do the serious clean up that I should have done years ago.

Over the years I have consistently tried to accomplish far too many things and find myself with bits of projects strung out on my desk, on my shelves, and just about everywhere else.

And then there are all the project pieces that everyone else seems to dump on my desk, maybe they think that since it is messy anyway I wont notice that they just dumped another stack of papers or files on my desk.

While packing up my office I did a lot of purging, filing and other organization, but there was much more to be done than could be done in a month, or even a year.

So here I am a year later with a desk that is filling up, both with old projects and new alike and my second office where all the overload goes still filled with many boxes that never quite got unpacked or processed.

So during this month I will be posting a few dozen organization blogs partly to motivate myself and to help the other people who would like to live a more organized life with a cleaner desk, cleaner vehicle, cleaner files, cleaner computer, cleaner phone, and a more organized mind.

I hope you all enjoy and benefit from the series.

September is a good month for me to be business as usual. Decluttering is a big part of what I do. :)

I have some things in the garage waiting to be taken to donate.  Other than that ... I am basically clutter free ... I love living minimally.

It is always nice to get some good pointers on decluttering.  Now it's a matter of making/taking the time to actually do it.

Ok Bob, I'm jumping on the band wagon. I've decided that everything needs to have a place to "reside" and if it doesn't then I need to find one, or it needs to go. I have TOO MUCH in my office and it's hard to move around and work!
