So, it's time to sell your current home.
And you have decided to list your home for sale with a real estate broker.
How do you decide which real estate broker to list your home with?
It can be tempting to list with the real estate broker who "promises" you the highest price - regardless of what the market data supports.
In the industry that's known as "Buying a Listing".
The practice is - tell the Sellers what they want to hear - and then beat on them for price reductions once you have the listing.
Is that the way it should be?
Let me put it another way - does that benefit the Seller?
Yesterday I met with a couple who wants to sell their home.
I spent close to two hours with them - and not once did we discuss list price.
Based on our discussion, they decided they will be listing with us.
The pricing discussion will be on Monday, when the listing documents will be signed.
That's the way it should be!
