If your home will be empty during the summer months, take the time to prepare the home so that you are not surprised with damage or theft while you’re gone. Keep Your Home From Looking Vacant
Even though you’re gone for the season, your home shouldn’t look like it. Forward your mail and newspapers; find a local caretaker to keep your home free from snow, debris or flyers. Interior living areas should have lights on timers to reflect your typical use.

The most important part of your home security is a good alarm system. Arrange to have the system monitored with a local response option. Many security companies are now offering affordable CCTV system add-ons; this is a great way to check in on your home from anywhere.
