Sacramento Short Sales: Who Ya Gonna Call?

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

It's a relief that short sales in Sacramento have been on the decline. It means our economy is recovering and prices have rebounded. We're not quite back to where we were in 2005 when the downturn began, but I'd say we're at least at 2008 prices when the second big crash happened.

Over the past 10 years, I have sold more than $76 million in short sales. I don't get a lot of short sale calls these days because there are not a lot of short sales anymore in Sacramento. But for a buyer who wants to buy a short sale, there is basically only one short sale agent to call. You can read more in my personal blog today at this link: Why You Need a Short Sale Agent to Buy a Short Sale.

Hi Elizabeth -- it's rare to see a short sale available in our market these days.   Having expert listing representation is not just important, it's crucial to a smooth transaction.  Congrats on your achievement.

Michael Jacobs Well, it's a weird honor but I guess somebody has to claim it.

While I have amassed nowhere near the amount of Short Sales you have, since my career began in 2005, out of the listings I have sold, 28% of them have been Short Sales.  That's a measurable part of my business.  And I've been dealing with them every year since 2007.  I don't see them going anywhere in the near future either. So yes, hiring an agent with experience to sell your Short Sale is a must.
