My Daily Planner

~ ~ ~

A Typical Day

Customers Come First

The most important thing a new agent needs to know is that a customer always comes first.  I have included a daily planner above for you to see the basics. Normally the notes section is completely blank and the daily activities are left off the planner. This example is in large print so that the reader may see it more easily and get a sense of the routine.  I normally print this in small print and there is lots of room to take notes and make changes.

By Starting at 5 AM, I am already on East Coast time but I don't have the phone ringing yet.  This gives me some quiet time to stay on track and get some basic tasks done.

  1. I print this daily planner after I have checked my emails and added new appointments.
  2. It goes on a clip board that I keep with me at all times.
  3. All calls and notes go on the planner.
  4. Every Single Day has a planner printed out. I am now scanning the files so that I can eliminate the printed copy (after holding for 1 quarter).  I keep a hard copy of the monthly calendar.
  5. I use windshield time inside my car to make any calls using my factory installed blue-tooth speaker phone.
  6. I answer my phone immediately as long as I am not with a customer or in a meeting.

As a real estate agent, we learn quickly that our schedule is more of a plan. I honor the plan as long as a customer does not change it.  I also have scheduled meetings or activities for most of the days in a week.

Monday - Check all listings (security, conditions and flyers)

Tuesday - Training sessions and classes

Wednesday - AM --> ReMax Office or SLREP meetings

                         PM --> Branding Conference Call

Thursday - Tour

Friday - Saturday - Sunday - Customer Appointments & Open Houses

If possible - I work to keep Sundays open -

That is very smart to have everything on a calendar!  I try to do the same, while still staying flexible when client needs arise.

Hi Brian England - Documentation is always a good thing. I have a good scanner and I scan a whole month at a time.  It is much easier to scroll through a month at a time.

We have a similar routine Sherry. I always jot things down on the daily calendar too and the notes prove invaluable.
