A Land Park Nail Salon Beats a Midtown Sacramento Bar

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

When I went to visit my manicurist at a Land Park nail salon yesterday, I realized this is the last time I will see her this year because my Hawaiian vacation is fast approaching. I share a lot of stories with my manicurist. Like how weird it will be, I just realized, to be in our house in Hawaii and have to take care of myself. I can't pick up the phone and order breakfast. Nobody will clean up after me. I'll have to do my own laundry, prepare my own meals, do my own grocery shopping.

My manicurist empathizes with me. She knows me, even if she struggles to relate. She's better than a bartender at a Midtown bar because I'm not getting drunk. Nope, I'm getting pretty fingers and toes. You can read all about my experience in my personal blog today at this link: Cat Stevens and National Enquirer at a Land Park Nail Salon.

Your Hawaiian trip will be different this year, but so much better to know you can have it anytime you want since you own your place there now.

I had never thought about it before.  But, a manicurist holds your hands and gives you one on one time.  A bartender flits about from customer to customer, probably giving you only a fraction of the same therapy time.  The only thing you need to consider is which is more healthy, less alcohol, or less chemicals from the salon???

Hi, Elizabeth...enjoy your Hawaiian trip. That sounds like a nice place to be at this time of the year.

Chris Ann Cleland Well, not exactly because the sellers have not yet moved. They were supposed to move but then they got caught up in a Canadian Visa situation (they are not American), so we worked out a compromise where they move out for a month and let my husband and I stay. Which will be weird, too.

Myrl Jeffcoat I guess the only other comparison would be your hairdresser, ha, ha. But my hairdresser is in Midtown, in a small shop, and other customers are within earshot . . . not as intimate as a manicure. I'd say I know my manicurist fairly well, have met her family, etc.

Debbie Laity Usually I get all giddy and not apprehensive when the time approaches to leave for Hawaii because I've been going there every year in December for at least part of a vacation. But I've been used to resort hotels and private limousines. This time I will have to retrieve my own luggage and rent my own car, drive myself, not that I figure people will feel sorry for me . . . LOL, but then I think back to my teenage years, how I hitchhiked to both coasts from the Midwest, and I can certainly survive.

Hi Elizabeth -- I remember a relative who used to quote the National Enquirer as if it was the bible when I was a child long before the Internet existed which I now know is the real source for truthiness
