Folk Singer and Activist Billy Bragg Stops in Sacramento

My husband read my personal blog this morning and slapped a Billy Bragg CD, "Back to Basics" on my desk. He said this is why I haven't heard very many Billy Bragg songs, because most of it was recorded in the 1980s. A decade that I boycotted musically. Yet, that's not really true because I certainly know the chorus to A New England.

However, I do realize that many people do not know Billy Bragg. Even Cathy McAlister, who owns 9 guitars she told me, and she plays around town in Sacramento. Good morning, Elizabeth -- I wasn't previously aware of Billy Bragg -- I like the story you share about him.  His life sounds as if it could be a good movie I could see in a theater which is more likely where you would find me than at a concert.  Kinda odd, I know.

Michael Jacobs The Crest Theatre is an intimate setting and the patrons are basically civil, so it's OK. Although, a woman behind me did lean forward and say, "excuse me, I think I splashed on you," and yes, the back of my shirt was a bit damp, come to think of it.
