Winter is just around the corner in Franklin MA, and this is the time of year for purchasing my winter supply of wood pellets. I had 3 ton of pellets delivered yesterday, and my grandson will load them in the basement today.
There are 150 bags (50 on each pallet) and each bag weighs 40 pounds. That’s my exercise every day during the winter. I carry up 7 to 10 bags a week from the basement to a utility closet where I store them.
My pellet stove is 3 years old, and I love it. It’s an Avalon and it’s so much easier than burning wood. There’s no odor, but most importantly, there’s no mess. I can’t imagine carrying wood indoors from outside. My OCD won’t handle that!!!
For the past few days, I’ve been using single bags that I purchased to run the stove in the morning with 40 degree temperatures. It’s just enough to take the chill out of the house, and I run it again in the evening for a few hours, to carry me through the night.
I highly recommend a pellet stove. It’s an ideal way for females to have a safe fire to keep the house warm with very nice atmosphere when friends visit.
Now, all we need is a snow storm, and that satisfies four hours of heavy lifting. I shovel two properties!!!
