The Holidays are Coming! Keep them safe.

As I sit here and write this post this morning, I can hear a firetruck of in the distance, racing to help someone in need. That someone is probably starting the day off in a particularly bad fashion. I think the Holidays can produce many bad days if we are not careful.

For instance, it is rare that I don't see a bad car accident on the highway when I travel to see family. People are in a hurry to get somewhere, or are not used to driving long distances and they have a momentary lapse in judgment. It's all it takes to have a bad day.

I walked in to my own office yesterday and found a candle burning on a desk. It had been left burning overnight. With the holidays coming more people put out festive decorations and light candles. These are often forgotten in our frenzy to have fun, with disastrous results.

So, the word here is to be cautious during this time of year. More people are out and about. They are on their phones and may not be paying close attention to what they should be doing. Watch out for these people. We want all of you to have those great days the holidays are meant for. Be safe, and call den Boer Homes when it is time to discuss Real estate.

This is a great reminder Peter den Boer , and something I needed to hear today.  Thanks for this well thought out post, and I am hopeful it reaches a lot of people.  When we are in such a hurry, we don't even think about it.  I am definitely going to slow down and also encourage family and friends to do the same.  Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Living in the "always in communication" mode is costing more lives. It is scary to see people pass you on the interstates at 70 mph texting. Surely, very soon, phones will not work for texting while in a moving vehicle.

You've raised a valid point - that often during the frenzy of the holidays, we can be careless and forgetful.  Thank you for reminding us to think about safety!
