Lisa Von Domek is host the "February Contest - Love is in the air!"  In her challenge Lisa asks us to  us to write a blog about three of our favorite favorite transactions witch made us feel good.  This will be an easy contest for me this month because I have done far more than three transactions which stand out in my mind that made me feel good.  The three I have chosen to submit for Lisa's contest were each very special, but for very different reasons.

My First Special Transaction I have chosen to write about, was my very first loan when I became a Loan Originator.  I wrote about this experience in a blog in June 4, 2013.  The title of the blog was "What Was Your First Experience In Your Real Estate Career?"

Lisa asks us to share what was special about the transaction.  I think that will be very obvious once you have read the blog which I have re-posted below.

*************************************************

"What Was Your First Experience In Your Real Estate Career?  Things that we experience for the “First Time” tend to be everlasting memories.  The first birthday we are able to remember, first day of school, first best friend, first fight, first date, first kiss, first car, first accident, first speeding ticket, first house, birth of your first child.  There are many "First Times" in our life that are special, and everlasting.  But there is one “First Time” that I did not mention, one I will also never forget, the first mortgage I did as a Loan Originator.

My very first mortgage as a Loan Originator, was an experience that was special for many reasons, and an experience I will never forget.  When I became a Loan Originator I had to go through an initial training which last a month before I was allowed to take a mortgage application.  While I was in training a friend of mine, whom I watched grow up into an exceptional young man, and now father of three special kids to me and my wife,  approached me and told me that once I was out of training he wanted to refinance his house.  I asked him if he was planning to do some additional work to the house, consolidate some bills, or was he just simply looking to lower his interest rate? He told me NO he did not want to refinance for any of those reasons.

So naturally my next question was "then why do you want to refinance?"  His response was one that took me by surprise, and one I will never forget.  He stated "we have been friends since he was a young teenager.  You have watched him grow up.  You were there for my father when he needed someone to encourage him.  Now I want to do something for you, I want to be the one you do your first mortgage on."  I did not know what to say except "thank you, and I am honored that you feel that way."

The rest of the time I was going through training, I looked forward to doing his refinance, and wanted to do the very best job I could putting it together.  Luckily for me it was not only my “First” loan, but it was probably one of the smoothest loan I have ever done.  It was a great start to a career I truly have enjoyed each and everyday since then."

I have done many more loans since this then, including refinancing this friend again into a lower interest rate, but there is none that I will remember more clearly, or with more satisfaction then this Loan.

George, Wouldn't it be wonderful if all of our "friends" were so supportive and loyal? Paying it back and paying it forward are the crown jewels in life. That is certainly a memorable story and a great friend.  You are blessed.

George Souto - Sincerity and honesty are qualities I look for in other people too. This was such a great new beginning for you and a positive ego booster too that didn't make you arrogant, just grateful. Having a good start in any business or type of relationships is worth its weight in gold. He obviously thought very highly of you for a long, long time. That was a very special experience for both of you. I'm glad you shared it! You're such a humble man.

Your first client knew that she wanted you to do her loan.  There was a reason that she knew that.  She could tell that you would take good care of it.
