I can remember when there was only one of her restaurants in town. I just recently spent a wonderful evening at the original "Dahl and Di Luca Ristorante Italiano" with a client. A few years ago I spent a romantic Valentine's Day dinner enjoying a six course menu especially created by Lisa for that evening.
Cucina Rustica was the second restaurant of the four. It is located on SR 179 in The Collective Sedona as you enter the Village of Oak Creek from I-17. If you are coming from West Sedona or Uptown, it is about 25 minutes to the east. There is wonderful romantic patio dining that can be enjoyed most of the year. I have spent a couple of anniversary dinners. Cucina Rustica is another restaurant I enjoy taking clients.
The property that Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill is built on, was once the home of a real estate office. My home is five minutes away in Soldiers Pass which is the view you see from the restaurant. I pass by it every day on the way to office at Coldwell Banker.
This land with those iconic views sat with an empty decaying building on it for many, many years, and I often wondered about the possibilies this land could hold for our wonderful community. Like some people dream about the lottery, I had a fantasy dream of building a home capturing these views from that property. It was a dream come true to be able to enjoy wonderful food creations and Mother Nature's creation at the same time.
