Memorial Day is upon us. I hope you all plan on attending your local Memorial Day Ceremonies. Then at 3:00 p.m. please stop what you are doing for 2 minutes for 2 minutes of silence or a prayer for those in harm's way.

Last year I read this poem as part of my Memorial Day speech.

Eleanor Roosevelt's Wartime Prayer

Dear Lord,

Lest I continue
My complacent way,
Help me to remember that somewhere,
Somehow out there
A man died for me today.
As long as there be war,
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?

 

 

I pray that God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and bless you with peace

No ma'am I don't think I'm worth dying for.  However, in my former profession I was willing to die for others, most of them I never knew.
