Live Near Your Work Funds Exhausted

One of the best programs for Baltimore City employees is the Live Near Your Work program that gives qualified home buyers, who work for the City of Baltimore, $5,000 towards purchasing a home in the City of Baltimore.  

Baltimore City Live Near Your Work funds have been exhausted for the 2018 Fiscal Year.  So, if you work for the City of Baltimore and are thinking about buying a home you will have to wait until July 1 in order to submit their application for funds.  This means you need to delay going under contract until July 1.  

However, let's get you registered for the next home buyer education class so you will be ready when that time comes.

Great information for people that work for the city, waiting till July 1 does not sound like a long wait.

July 1 isn't that far away, the classes are offered once a month and it will take any would be buyer's almost that long to get through the class and the interview with a housing counsellor.  It will be here before you know it!!

Sounds like a great program. In Lancaster, PA we have LHOP which offers closing cost $$$ (returned when you sell).

We also have the Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) that is $5,000 towards closing costs which is a no interest loan repayable when you sell.  The LNYW program is a grant forgiven over 5 years.
