Throwback Thursdays - Edinburgh

A dozen years ago I traveled to Scotland. It was a wonderful trip and I got to see the Queen's Palace. Many things over the last few weeks and all the talk and spotlight on the Royals have brought back memories of the jewels, throne room and lavish dresses we saw in Scotland. The castles and cathedrals were wonderful to see as were the fireplaces that were as big as rooms.

The streets of cobblestone are hard on the feet and made me have empathy for the horses of the times. Rooftop views and rooftop gardens were awesome and so were the lush greens of the countryside.

I also remember the clear blue skies (when it wasn't raining) and the unusual foods like haggis and the pale sausages and all the peas and carrots served with every dish.

Scotland

Do you see the castle in the far left background? I walked the hill and saw that one, too.

Thanks, Debbie, for sharing your memories.

We have not been to Scotland. Interesting, some of my family on my mother's side date back to Scotland in the 1700's.

Would love a visit to Scotland but, the cobblestone roads are just not good for travel for Ray. I would love to visit the castles too, Debbie - I am of Scottish descent so, perhaps one day, I'll take a girls trip there!

Love the photo too!

What a great photo, Debbie Reynolds .  It is on my list to get to Europe again sometime soon.  I hope in the next year my work load and organization will allow for this.
