It is no secret I do not like bugs. Showing many vacant homes, there is nothing worse than a cob web across the face. Actually there is, a spider attached to it. After a long talk with an owner of a vacant home, she said she is sending me one of these BUG CATCHERS. Funny because we spoke about someone giving the home a quick dusting or so.  But she never got to it

The home is her parents who moved to Florida. The home is empty now and she is just listing with me. When i went in the only occupants were the spiders. She laughed at me as she said I would not like the spiders in south then. That is true....

I am happy that she listened and the home will be cleaned so we can get on the market. I will be happy to get my new spider and bug catcher. Although i make light of it, cleaning a home before sale is a must. Buyers want homes ready to move in. They want to feel comfortable when they enter not be scared by floor to ceiling cob webs.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing in real estate for me is to provide great service. To stand out from the crowd by being there through each step of the buying or selling process. My philosophy is simple, to provide more personal and professional service to guide clients through each step of the buying or selling process. All Agents are not created equal and every buyer or seller should take the time to hire the BEST not just the biggest.

Beats shooting them! Lol.  Seriously, it appears to be a very handly little device Scott. I share your fear of most spiders - the little ones don't bug me, but the big ones sure do. Regardless, all spiders need to live outside of a home.

Bugs, alive or dead, are not a welcome sight in any listing.  Glad you got through to your seller.

Hi Scott Godzyk .  I hope your bug catcher works well - and that you have few opportunities to use it due to the sellers keeping their home clean.

Thank you Lynnea Miller , i dont ind using it when they keep giving me bank owned listings to use them on. This one was an older couple who moved in the spring, but most often it is the bank owned homes i see the most spiders

Hi Scott- totally agree that particularly with vacant homes where there is nothing else to catch the eye of a buyer, everything needs to be spotless!!!  My brother bought something that looks like that but shoots salt at bugs.

I agree - I don't like bugs. Lady Bugs didn't used to bother me, but then about 2 years ago we had an explosion of them in our sun room. About the time things were warming up in the spring, they hatched out, and the windows, walls and ceiling were covered. I counted more than 2,000 of them over a few days of vacuuming.

This year it's been yellow jackets, but thankfully they're outside. We've caught thousands and thousands of them in traps. Now the weather has cooled and there aren't as many, but they seem to be getting meaner. One of our dogs got stung twice today.

Kathy Streib mentioned the salt gun - our son bought my husband one of those that he keeps in the shop to shoot flies. Not always easy since they don't hold still!

Morning Scott.

Bugs including spiders don't really other me, except for mosquitoes and flies. I do understand, the home needs to be cleaned.

I'm not a spider fan but as a 64 year old man I've learned that I can crush them even with my bare hands if need be.
