Grateful for the opportunity to serve on the NAHB Executive Committee
ActiveRain Ambassador Debbie Reynolds has challenged member bloggers to write up to ten blogs before Thanksgiving expressing our gratitude for special moments, big or small, in our lives. Hopefully, this challenge will make all us us recall some special times.
I am grateful that I had the opportunity to serve on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Home Builders. I had served on the Board of Directors of the Tidewater Builders Association and was the president in 1972 and had served on the Board of Directors of the Home Builders Association of Virginia and had been a life member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Home Builders for many years when Frederick J. Napolitano was elected as the president of NAHB in 1982. He invited me to serve on the Executive Committee during his term.
It was a learning experience to meet with building industry leaders from around the country. And, Dolores enjoyed traveling with me to Executive Committee meetings and Board of Directors meetings in very interesting locations. She was sometimes on the golf courses when I was in meetings.
My relationships with building industry leaders led to many business opportunities and some of the most interesting ventures during my career.
This is my fourth blog post in this challenge. I hope you have read the previous posts.
