Beginning tomorrow afternoon, my car and I will be putting Magellan on autopilot. We’re heading east. I won't tell you exactly where, because that would spoil the fun - or at least I think it might:-)
There will be mountains, and forests; but not the kind you think of. There will be deserts, plateaus and spires. There will be ancient ones - both man and beast. There will be water - wonderful lakes and seas without tides and footprints in a size bigger than your shoe.
I should have Internet connectivity; but it may be intermittent. I'll try posting what I'm seeing and experiencing, and we will see if you can guess, Where the Heck is Myrl?

All - Sheri Sperry came in first with the answer. I'm picking up my grandson in Reno, and then continuing on across Nevada to Utah's Highway 12. A highway that has 3 national parks (Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon and Zion). It also has 3 state parks (Anasazi Indian Museum, Kodachrome and Petrified Forrest). I want my grandson to see the Escalante Staircase National Monument, which is under threat right now. The current administration in Washington wants to open it up to drilling and mining.
