NOVEMBER 2019 THANKSGIVING GRATITUDE CHALLENGE; Week 2, I am a lucky guy, Great Wife and a Happy Life.
I attended Mass early this morning and was pleased to hear the first reading was a favorite verse that always reminds me of my wife Sally.
prv 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31
When one finds a worthy wife,
her value is far beyond pearls.
Her husband, entrusting his heart to her,
has an unfailing prize.
She brings him good, and not evil,
all the days of her life.
She obtains wool and flax
and works with loving hands.
She puts her hands to the distaff,
and her fingers ply the spindle.
She reaches out her hands to the poor,
and extends her arms to the needy.
Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting;
the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her a reward for her labors,
and let her works praise her at the city gates.
A friend of mine always repeats the saying that “a happy wife, makes for a happy life”. I have found that this silly little saying is very true. And my happy wife makes it her mission to make me happy too.
Sally has always been a happy mystery to me, why she loves me so much, why she works so hard to make me happy, and why God loved me enough to give me such a wonderful wife.
Sally is definitely the hardest working person that I know, and she gets a great pleasure out of working hard 17 hours a day. She works very hard 10 hours a day at her career as a reading specialist for the Stevens Point Schools. Then she spends the rest of her time taking care of me and the kids and helping out with my business.
Sally is also a very spiritual person who spends a lot of time in prayer and spends a lot of time volunteering for the Church. She also takes the fact that the third partner in our marriage is God, very seriously.
With all of the situations in life, the one person that I can always trust and count on is Sally.
So on day 2 of this challenge, I am thankful that God gave me the best loving partner, Sally.
