Oh what fun it is to participate in an ActiveRain Challenge! This month Anna and Carol put their heads together inviting members to write a story about a transaction. As a reminder, they said, "Truth is stranger than fiction." Here's my story - now you decide "True" or "Fake!"
A crazy thing happened to me about two years ago when I was out on a limb without my cell phone.
I found myself wandering in a very precarious position in West Texas during Thanksgiving weekend, 2017. It was after sunset. The roads were dark and narrow and there was snow on the ground! I was feeling hot and stuffy, so I rolled down the window. Then I heard it, psithurism, the sound of wind in the trees and rustling of leaves. Naturally, I thought of Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD and suddenly, it was as if John Muir was whispering in my ear!
"Trees go wandering forth in all directions with every wind, going and coming like ourselves, traveling with us around the sun two million miles a day, and through space heaven knows how fast and far!"
At that time, I was doing a lot of running around, feeling like I was covering "a million miles a day." Since I rationalized, I couldn't be lost, I had nowhere to go, I pulled over. Carefully, I put the car in park, making sure it wasn't in reverse and parked the car. I felt drawn to the trees. Something was pulling me into the forest! There must have been at least 199 species of trees I never saw before! They were whispering loudly! I wasn't the slightest bit afraid.... alright, maybe just a little. Suddenly....
Bob Crane appeared out of nowhere! There was a calmness in his voice. He said, "There are living things in the forest and it's a community of peace. Do not be afraid." And just like that, he disappeared! A gust of wind came out of nowhere. A scattering of yellow, orange, and red maple leaves gathered around my feet. Squirrels were making a lot of noise gathering nuts when then I couldn't believe my eyes because Anna Banana Kruchten CRB, GRI, WLS and Carol Williams were standing there laughing! They were having fun hiking in the snow. Anna turned her head and said, "A rolling stone gathers no moss, but it gains a certain polish!" They gave me a wink and turned down a winding fork up the road.
I recalled people said this to mean that an ambitious person is more successful than a person not trying to achieve anything. Next, an odd couple came walking towards me. Hey you! They said, "you're just in time!" We love when a realtor is on time and doesn't keep us waiting. I must have been talking to them in my sleep because they knew everything about me and the houses we were expecting to see the next day.
"Why, yes, I am Patricia Feager from Flower Mound!" Do you have your pre-approval letter, I asked? "Of course, they said. Send me the list of houses you want to see in the morning and I'll be there after making sure they are still available. They handed me their pre-approval letter and contact information, telling me they were so happy to start their journey. There was a lot of Yada Yada Yada... showing houses, dinners together, different forms of communication, and finally, it was on the last Friday in December, 2017 we closed on their beautiful home. It was a successful and happy transaction!
The End
